Local Area Information
OUT AND ABOUT:
La Ville Hervé is situated just over 1km from our local village Landéhen. It has a bar/shop and a boulangerie, and it also has tennis courts and horse riding.
10 minutes drive away is the market town of Lamballe. A major attraction is the Haras National Stud Farm. There are large live displays and carriage rides.
Don't miss: Lamballe's thursday morning market
Lamballaise; thursday evening with lots of food, drink, and lots of music and dancing.
Lamballe is a beautiful town with lots of bars, restaurants, shops and supermarkets.
BEACHES:
We are just 20 minutes drive from some of the beautiful beaches of Cotes d'Armor. Here are a few of our favorites:
- Val André (20 minutes drive)
Take a cliff-top walk from the pretty port of Dahouet to the curving, beautiful, sandy bay of Val André - an attractive, bustling seaside town with lots of shops, bars, restaurants, snack bars and a casino.
- Le Petit Saint-Michel (30 minutes drive)
Yet another beautiful sandy beach with turquoise blue crystal clear water. Low tide reveals a pebbly, rocky causeway leading out to a small island with a little Chapel on top. A note of warning: do not attempt to cross the causeway to the island when the tide is coming in due to dangerously strong currents!
- Binic (30 minutes drive)
A charming port town with lots of shops, bars and restaurants. Next to the busy marina is a large open beach with a sea-water swimming pool; there is also a harbour beach beyond the jetty.
If you're looking for some slightly "wilder" beaches, ie no shops, restaurants and bars, just cliffs, sand, rock pools and lovely clear blue sea, there are some beautiful beaches to the East of Cap d'Erquy. We particularly like Portuais, Lortuais and Guen. There are many more, but too many to mention.
LOCALLY:
- Indian Forest Tree Climbing Center, Morieux (15 minutes drive)
8 different courses for all ages, 3 years and upwards. Exhilarating zip lines, rope nets and ladders, snowboarding crown or giant zip lines across the river.
